The Common Source Earns Inc. 5000 Designation

Houston Area Business Ranks in National List of Fastest-Growing Private Companies

IPRO Award

HOUSTON – October 2, 2009

Houston area business, The Common Source, ranked number 1,786 in the Inc. 5000 third annual list of America’s fastest-growing privately-owned companies last week.

This year, businesses appearing in the Inc. 5000 were ranked according to percentage of revenue growth from 2005 through 2008. To qualify for the list, companies had to prove they are U.S.-based, privately held, for profit and independent.

The Common Source beat out thousands of companies nationwide to appear on the exclusive list by jumping from revenues of $1.1 million in 2005 to $3.0 million in 2008. With only 13 employees, the company generated an impressive growth of 177.9 percent within the three-year time frame. Locally, The Common Source ranked number 50 on the list out of all the companies in the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown geographic area.

“We are honored to be within the top 2000 companies on Inc. 5000’s prestigious list,” said Ann Zdansky, founder and owner of The Common Source. “We believe our growth is a direct effect of our standards, honesty and the performance excellence we bring to every client relationship.”

The Inc. 5000 is a select list of the nation’s fastest-growing companies generated by Inc. magazine. Founded in 1979, the magazine is dedicated to covering current and relevant business topics and providing innovative ideas for owners and managers of growing private companies. The magazine’s total paid circulation is 712,961.
“Savvy trend spotters and those who invest in private companies know that the Inc. 5000 is the best place to find out about young companies that are achieving success through a wide variety of unprecedented business models, as well as older private companies that are still expanding at an impressive rate,” said Inc. 5000 Project Manager Jim Melloan. “That’s why our list is so eagerly anticipated every year.”
