Be ready for your next challenge.
The Common Source, LP was founded by L. Ann Zdansky in May 1997. Prior to establishing the company, Ann was retained as a consultant for a major corporation to assist in a massive document production. She realized the significant undertaking required to manage millions of pages in numerous different state actions, and set out to develop a better method.
After organizing the document scanning and coding, she coordinated the image management and database on a remote system. The electronic repository system provided outside counsel remote access to the central database, images and transcripts. This process saved the client millions of dollars in document production and management costs.
With cases becoming larger and larger in production size (tobacco, breast implant, asbestos, etc.), Ann formed The Common Source to provide a secure, online data repository to manage complex litigation documents. This service allows multiple parties to collaborate easier and to share the cost of managing document-intensive cases.
In August 2000, The Common Source began providing document imaging and coding services. The perfection that Ann demands and provides to her clients was not available in the Houston market, so she decided to do it herself and ensure it would be right.
Recently, The Common Source began providing electronic discovery services. To keep within the quality requirements, each electronic file and image undergoes an extensive electronic and manual page-for-page quality control process that is unmatched in the industry.
The Common Source is certified by the WBEA (Women's Business Enterprise Alliance) as a Woman Owned Business and a Texas certified HUB vendor (Historically Underutilized Business). Ann owns 100% of the company stock. Her daughter, Shannon Reed, is the Chief Operations Officer (COO), and the Receptionist, Lois Sharp, is Ann's mother. As a family-operated company, The Common Source maintains a “friendly” work environment where each staff member takes great pride in their work. Every employee is cross-trained allowing them to “see the whole picture,” resulting in a better-end product for each client.
At The Common Source, we are always looking for new and innovative ways to assist our clients and save them money. We have a vested interest in the company's success and reputation—after all, it is our retirement plan!
