The Common Source, LP was founded by L. Ann Zdansky in May 1997. In the 18 months prior to starting the company, Ann was retained as a consultant for a major corporation to assist in a massive document production. She realized the major undertaking required to manage millions of pages in numerous different state actions and set out to develop a better method. She organized the scanning and coding of the documents and coordinated the management of the images and database on a remote system. The electronic repository system allowed outside counsel the ability to remotely access the central database, images and transcripts. This process saved the client millions of dollars in document production and management costs.
