Special Olympics
The Special Olympics is an organization that gives athletes with intellectual disabilities the chance to be a part of their community and learn to believe in themselves and each other. Through participation in various sporting events, the organization provides a gateway to acceptance and empowerment for intellectually-challenged athletes. Supporters of the Special Olympics believe that life lessons, such as endurance and goal-setting, are learned through athletes’ participation in the program. To learn how you can donate and help support athletes with intellectual disabilities, visit the organization’s website at www.specialolympics.org.
