Muscular Dystrophy Association
Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) is a nonprofit health agency that provides funding for worldwide research in an effort to find the cure for muscular dystrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and other related diseases. The association provides services like comprehensive medical consultations, support groups, summer camps and loans for medical equipment. MDA helps to improve the quality of life for those affected by muscular dystrophy. The association’s most identifiable volunteer is entertainer Jerry Lewis, their national chairman.
